DEAR COUSIN MIKE: WHICH IS THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS?

Mike,

Came across this email just sitting among other drafted emails.   Although dated, decided to go ahead and send this email to you; among others.

If I've thought them, should there be any wrong with me sharing these opinions, conclusions, and conjectures of mine, with you?

Maybe even a few "instances of the finger-post" among them?

The moment one "enabled" enough information "ABEL" coming to an accurate conclusion.

For whom?  What question?  Why so long?

What does GOD's silence in the "penultimacy" mean and do for you that would not do the same for me should I choose letting GOD do so?

As you read this email, I want you to be thinking of an answer... I'm only able hoping ....you be willing sharing with me, among others, on my blog:

?PURGATORY~g(CAT!FISH)d~DIALOGUE?
WITH EACH DAY, i LOVE YOU MORE?

Dear Cousin Mike,

I have been keeping up with your race to be the next Governor of Arkansas. And I can not help but be fascinated, not jealous or envious, seeing the potential for a modern day retelling as well as real life comparison/ re-contextualization of the Cain and Abel's story to our life stories.

You've worked hard to be where you are today, and can be proud of what you've accomplished; but some of it came at the expense of others. And this is all I'm wanting you admitting/confessing.

"Behind every successful man is a woman,"
said the elderly wife of a veterinarian I was doing some relief work at one of their satellite clinic.

"Yeah. A younger one!" I so badly wanted responding back at that big haired Conservative females thought terminating cliche. Just too obvious we weren't talking about Dr. Ingelby's mother either.

"Quality of a good leader is one able disappointing his own people at a rate they can absorb."

"A truly virtuous man would come to the aid of a distant stranger equally as he would that of a close friend. Then again, a truly virtuous man would have no friends."
+
"Those with a surplus are better able controlling their circumstances. Those without are controlled by them. One is not always able exercising good judgment."
+
"Manipulation and deception eliminates the possibility of consent."
+
"People try to hide behind God to fool others in the world, but they fail to realize that the world is not big enough to hide behind and try and fool God."
+
"One person's trauma is an others lost of innocence."
+
"Takes one to reason. Two to disagree. Three to vote."
+
"Before there can be a conflict, there must first be a common interest. Before there is an advantage, there must first be something different. We all (animal, vegetable, and mineral) share the same common interest; space. We all compete for the same space we've no choice but to share."
+
"Never wise one-half of two equals taking advantage the upper hand; the other "ABEL" although fair, not always raising two objections."
Mike, I do understand that you campaign from black and white, govern from gray. But I'm not so sure I've seen anything about your life as an example that's causing changes of ways in other; just the state of Arkansas becoming redder and redder.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST CARRIES ON

Probably you as well, following more closely in the footsteps of Sonny Perdue than that of Jesus of Nazareth.

George Ervin "Sonny" Perdue III (born December 20, 1946) is an American politician who served as the 81st Governor of Georgia from 2003 to 2011. Upon his inauguration in January 2003, he became the first Republican Governor of Georgia since Reconstruction.

In 1971 he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and worked as a veterinarian before becoming a small business owner, eventually starting three small businesses.

Perdue ran for a seat in the Georgia General Assembly. He defeated Republican candidate Ned Sanders in 1990 and succeeded Democratic incumbent Ed Barker as the Senator representing the 18th district. He switched party affiliation from Democrat to Republican in 1998 and was re-elected to the Senate as a Republican. He also won re-election in 2000.

Perdue resigned in December 2001 and devoted himself entirely to running for the office of Governor. He was elected Governor of Georgia in November 2002, defeating Democratic incumbent Roy Barnes, 51% to 46% (a Libertarian candidate took 2% of the vote). He became the first Republican governor of Georgia in over 130 years.

Having won office after promising to let the citizens of Georgia vote to determine their flag, Perdue signed legislation for a flag referendum in 2004. The choices given to Georgia voters were a modified version of the First National Flag of the Confederate States of America with the Georgia State Seal prominently displayed inside the circle of the 13 stars, or the version of the flag created in 2001 by the Roy Barnes administration. (The nickname of this flag was the Barnes flag or Barnes rag). Perdue angered some Georgians when the 1956 flag was not a choice on the ballot after promising throughout his campaign that the '56 flag design would appear in any referendum. However, Perdue was faced with a Democratic House that would not consider having the 1956 flag on the referendum and he needed support for the new tobacco tax he wanted to pass.

According to a March 5, 2008, proclamation by Governor Perdue, "Among those who served the Confederacy were many African-Americans, both free and slave, who saw action in the Confederate armed forces in many combat roles. According to the Georgia government's website on Confederate History Month, they also participated in the manufacture of products for the war effort, built naval ships, and provided military assistance and relief efforts..."

"Experience is just nature's cruel way of giving the exams first followed by their lessons."

Mike...you keep proudly referring to yourself as being fifth generation Arkansan as well as having been raised with small town Christian values. Not so sure I know what this means? I'm also fifth generation Arkansan by same Methodist missionary Rev. Alexander William Avery who crossed the Mississippi River to preach to the Choctaw Indians; as well as, supposedly raised by same Christians values by the same church you... later... claimed as your church.

THE HIGHER UP WE GO; THE MORE DIFFICULT THE TESTS BECOME

Except for the few times we ran into each other during our early years at the Avery Reunion held annually at the Prescott Community Center, I knew nothing about you except that your mother had been crippled by polio and your father was the principle at the school of nearby Emmet;  population three hundred.

Which church helped raise you your fist eighteen years? Midway Methodist Church nearby Hempstead County? Same church where, my father's cousin and your mother's cousin having made us cousins as well, Gary L. Avery is buried? The same church started by our Johnny Appleseed Methodist Minister Rev. Alexander William Avery having made us both fifth generation Arkansans? The same Methodist missionary, with the help of his family,  having helped with the deracination of our Choctaw Indians; and eventually others?

I certainly did not care coming back and starting my practice in Prescott; same as my father. Not when  realizing I was gay during my second year of veterinary school. Or better said, becoming gay if willingly considering my perspective of the girls being the ones rejecting me first.  And... please.... give me some room here for taste here; would you please!  Absolutely no sense in breeding more Pro-Life like these!

And I'm finding it also interesting,  having learned of your father, now, being a Methodist Administer in Florida...?  Is this correct?

I've learned a lot about human nature since leaving Arkansas; and still continuing to learn.

It's ...not...pretty; anything I've seen so far able giving me hope.

Ted Kennedy’s political and human desires:

That human beings be measured not by what they cannot do but by what they can do. That quality health care becomes a fundamental right and not a privilege. That the old politics of race and gender die away. That newcomers be accepted, no matter their color or place of birth. That the nation stand united against violence, hate and war. And, in echo of his famous words, that the work begins anew, the hope arises anew, and the dream lives on.

As I try and debate the issues with people I'm working with or just crossing paths with where-ever I am, I'm learning the hard way the difference between a bleeding heart liberal and a true blue democrat.

If the issues being debated is not ones problem (privileged or becoming privileged), one has to have enough money in the bank (financial security), enough of a good life (friends), speaking up for the less fortunate (worldly). Does not mean they wants to know them personally, or meet with them; just that they know of them.

It can pit one against family and friends.Whatever flaws one might have, it gets amplified and used against them.

Think Bill Clinton and John Edwards; then there's me.

The others do not live long enough to vote a difference (lack of health care), or losing their rights to vote/lack of representation (felonies), or just not voting due to feeling marginalized (A.C.O.R.N.), or just dead, dead, dead long before even a chance voting (abortions); a voice.

Although I do understand your votes with Obama-care and the Matthew Shepherd/James Byrd Anti-Crime Hate Bill from a politician's point of view, as it relates to getting elected in Arkansas;  can not help but begin seeing our BLUE DOG DEMOCRATS (Micheal "Avery" Ross and family) in the same light as our LOG CABIN REPUBLICANS (Mary Cheney and family); voting self interest (congeniality bias) more than with a bleeding heart for others.

HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH

February 2013, President Wagner wrote an essay in the Emory Magazine entitled "As American as... Compromise" in which he used the Three-Fifths Compromise as an example of pragmatic compromise that Emory University should emulate. He wrote, "One instance of constitutional compromise was the agreement to count three-fifths of the slave population for purposes of state representation in Congress... Both sides found a way to temper ideology and continue working toward the highest aspiration they both shared—the aspiration to form a more perfect union. They set their sights higher, not lower, in order to identify their common goal and keep moving toward it." The essay sparked controversy on Emory's campus and attracted national and international media attention and an apology from Wagner. Per the New York Times, Wagner "acknowledged both the nation’s continuing education in race relations and his own." Leslie Harris, an Emory history professor who has worked to address issues of race at the college, countered that “[t]he three-fifths compromise is one of the greatest failed compromises in U.S. history .... Its goal was to keep the union together, but the Civil War broke out anyway.”

Doing the right thing for the wrong reason has no moral worth.

Mike...you know I'm atheist because I told you so; but how am I to know you really are a true Christian?
A license will not stop someone from being a reckless driver; but it sure would be nice seeing someone having to pass a test before able becoming a reckless Christian.

Whether the topic be:
WARS AND PEACES, HEAVENS AND HELLS, BLACKS AND WHITES, MALES AND FEMALES, HETEROSEXUALS AND  HOMOSEXUALS, THE RICHES AND POORER, THE RIGHTS AND THE WRONGS, THE SAINTS AND THE SINNERS;
there has to be a common interest before there is a conflict, something different before there is an advantage.

Take 1 to reason; 2 to disagree; 3 to vote.

Morales is not something that you vote on; it's our lack of morals that leads to voting to begin with.

It's been my observation that Evil always wins unless Good is very, very careful.
~(Bones McCoy from Star trek)~.

I've come to believe there is no such thing as a truly virtuous man. And that Jesus did not die for our sins so that we may live but instead lived by example. I'm beginning to see most Americans (everyone, anywhere, anytime... actually) no differently than the crowd that voted his fate.  Even me.

TAO~g(Congeniality Bias)d~OG are PRO-LIFE (My Side) CHOICES.

What a wasted crucifixion.

Mike,

I've struggled with a crystal meths addiction long time now;  one that has now returned back to being a daily habit...again... just maintaining what I call a normal(?)day although not a normal(?)day. This is nothing more than what is known in pharmacokinetics as having reached  steady state levels.

At this point you only have two choices; start your day off with it or crash.

If you choose crash, it will take 2-3 weeks for me before even able functioning beyond anything more than eating, pissing, and sleeping. This part I can do on my own.   And I've made several attempts trying getting myself off this habit, a habit having become a daily habit starting around 1999 up until having to perform my own drug addiction intervention Thanksgiving 2010.

This means I've been going to and from work under the influence of this drug while working as a relief veterinarian at various veterinary hospitals scattered throughout Metro-Atlanta; up until realizing Thanksgiving 2010, if anyone cared enough performing my drug addiction intervention, that person was going to have to be me.

And this is where supportive groups helping me staying off this drug truly begins. Without the proper support, how then can one stay off if no one willing listening how they contributed to the problems in the first place.

I'm not blaming anyone in particular for my addiction; but I'm certainly not the one only to blame.

It's call diffusion of responsibility.

And I started with the only friendly neighbor, I thought I had, living in the house directly across the street from me;  wife of nationally known pastoral consultant George Robert Gary, Sr. ThD.

Although retired from Emory's Candler School of Theology, her husband, the Rev? Dr? Gary still working at (Pastoral) Care And Counseling Center of Georgia.

Mike,

This is where the drafted email ends.

And I'm tired of looking on it.

Try thinking of it as a...prayer.

Enjoy,

James E. Avery, DVM
