RESCHEDULED: Status Hearing for Defendant at 1840 Mason Mill Rd

We hope that everyone had a safe Holiday season. We wanted to let you know that the Court continued James Avery’s status hearing on his competency evaluation from tomorrow to Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. Georgia Regional has not yet provided a final report on Mr. Avery’s competency and the Court must wait on the final report until it can continue Mr. Avery’s probation revocation hearing. We will continue to keep everyone updated as we are updated from Georgia Regional and the Court, but, again, there is not a status hearing tomorrow in James Avery’s matter. That status hearing is continued until January 30th.

My understanding is there is a new element to the case in the threats of physical harm to a local minister and telephone calls to the effect. I think a lot of folks are now really worried that the situation is escalating. I hope that things progress at the January 30th hearing.
