Freedom of Speech only protects you from being prosecuted from WHAT you say (and there are some limits to that as well). It doesn't protect you from being prosecuted for harassing people. He's cut back the number of signs to be compliant. That's fine. But it's still against the law for him to stand outside and yell at his neighbors and passersby. That creates a public nuisance and you can be arrested or fined for it. The first amendment doesn't protect you from that.

Chris Marquez There isn't a law forbidding him from putting what he wants on a sign in his yard. But there are laws about how many signs he can have. They were written to protect the rights of his neighbors. He has recently started to comply with that ordinance. So that part is fine. There are also laws forbidding him from creating a public disturbance and verbally assaulting his neighbors. Those laws also do not violate his first amendment rights.

Katherine Gauntt His house is on a curve in the road. More than one accident has occurred as a result. I have passed it a thousand times and have never figured out his point of view because the messages dont make sense. Personally, I think he does it because it annoys others and thats his objective.
