About Me

My photo
Hearing impaired (tendency to appear dumb, dense, and/or aloof), orthodox atheist (believe faith more harmful than doubt), self depreciating sense of humor (confident/not to be confused with low self esteem), ribald sense of humor (satorical/mocking when sensing Condescension), confirmed bachelor (my fate if not my choosing), freakish inclination (unpredictable non-traditionalist opinions), free spirit (nor conformist bohemian) Believe others have said it better...... "Jim! You can be SO SMART, but you can be SO DUMB!" "Jim! You make such a MARTYR of yourself." "He's a nice guy, but...." "You must be from up NORTH!" "You're such a DICK!" "You CRAZY!" "Where the HELL you from?" "Don't QUITE know how to take your personality." My favorite, "You have this... NEED... to be....HONEST!"

MARY COBB: THE OTHER ABLE ALTHOUGH FAIR?

SUPPORTER COMMENT
SUPPORTER COMMENT - He gets more and more provocative and threatening. I'm worried that he will become violent towards me or my family. My family has lived in this neighborhood since 1986.
Mary Cobb, Decatur, GA7 hours ago

Mary Cobb, rest assured that I will not become violent toward you, your family, anyone else family living your neighborhood, or anyone's family living any of our many many many many neighborhoods outside of your neighborhood...period.

However, cannot be said the same regarding the potential of violence directed at me by you, by members of your family, by others living your neighborhood, or living any of your many many many neighborhoods elsewhere?

[In psychology, cognitive dissonance is the mental stress or discomfort experienced by an individual who holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values at the same time, performs an action that is contradictory to one or more beliefs, ideas, or values, or is confronted by new information that conflicts with existing beliefs, ideas, or values.

Leon Festinger's theory of cognitive dissonance focuses on how humans strive for internal consistency. An individual who experiences inconsistency (dissonance) tends to become psychologically uncomfortable, and is motivated to try to reduce this dissonance—as well as actively avoid situations and information likely to increase it.

Most of the research on cognitive dissonance takes the form of one of four major paradigms. Important research generated by the theory has been concerned with the consequences of exposure to information inconsistent with a prior belief, what happens after individuals act in ways that are inconsistent with their prior attitudes, what happens after individuals make decisions, and the effects of effort expenditure. A key tenet of cognitive dissonance theory is that those who have heavily invested in a position may, when confronted with disconfirming evidence, go to greater lengths to justify their position.

Dissonance is felt when people are confronted with information that is inconsistent with their beliefs. If the dissonance is not reduced by changing one's belief, the dissonance can result in restoring consonance through misperception, rejection or refutation of the information, seeking support from others who share the beliefs, and attempting to persuade others.]

Mary, are you even aware that I've been banned from Nextdoor.com for having violated their "Neighborhood" Guidelines?

That I only joined Nextdoor in the first place because of two of our Nextdoor Neighbors becoming concerned, even alarmed, at what they were seeing being posted up to tread about the inappropriate signage 1840 Mason Mill started by one of their Nextdoor Mason Mill Neighborhood Leads; your neighborhood's sweet approachable two-faced President of Mason Mill Civic Association, Mary Hinkel?

Thanks to the support or lack of support your Mason Mill Nextdoor neighbors and your Mason Mill neighborhood leads, that someone named Garrett from Nextdoor Support, wherever it is he lives, had the audacity telling me; "It's possible that Nextdoor is not the right neighborhood for you?"

"Garrett, as the neighborhood I'm wanting to believe I live in extends halfway around the world in all four directions, God had got to be the 'Biggest Mother Fucker' of them all! If not, may be possible next door isn't the right neighborhood for you?" I wrote back to him.

Then again once more. .?

Oh great! Don't like the neighborhood you are currently living, just go online and create another one more to your liking!

[An example of the belief disconfirmation paradigm is an orthodox Jewish group that in 1994 believed that their highest ranking Jewish Rabbi might be the Messiah. When the Rabbi died of a stroke, instead of accepting that he was not the Messiah, some of them concluded that he was still the Messiah but would soon be resurrected from the dead. Some have suggested the same process might explain the belief two thousand years ago that Jesus was resurrected from the dead.]

Mary, be honest with yourself; haven't we problems enough, already, should have been confronted and resolved long ago? Problems created as the results of our churches behaving the same way?

[The general effectiveness of psychotherapy and psychological intervention has been explained in part through cognitive dissonance theory. Some social psychologists have argued that the act of freely choosing a specific therapy, together with the effort and money the client invests to continue the chosen therapy, positively influences the effectiveness of therapy.]

It was Bob Gary's wife Janet I first confessed my addiction to illegal drugs as a "Crackhead."

Confess the dept of my depression by saying, "Had i a gun in the house, I could have killed myself."

Even confessed to Bob Gary's wife Janet, whom I had wrongly believed to be my only friendly neighbor, "Janet, are you aware, before there can be an "Antichrist," there must first be a "Christ"? Well I'm an Anti-Christ.

Not only did she graciously welcome, into their homes, a neighbor she already knew was both a self-avowed practicing homosexual as well as a self-avowed practicing atheist; like a vampire, I escaped an Anti-Christ with a crystal meths addiction.

Although there is more I'm very much wanting to add to this posting. It's late. I'm tired. Been a long day. Nothing's changed.

The postings of Bert Gary, pastor of Owl Rock Methodist Church, and his younger sister Susan Landry, senior pastor of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Susan's husband claiming to be the owner of this house directly across from mine, even the posting by a Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Lunz now retire, proof enough why.

Our "United Methodist" might as well bring down their cross; or at least suffering their offering into a pinata hanging from off one arm of it instead.

"There are two types of people in this world, victims and volunteers. After the age of ten, we are all pretty much volunteers"

Until I'm "Abel" seeing a change in their behavior, Adam Lanza did those children a favor.

The same as the killing of a gorilla named Harambe, today was also a very very sad day; obvious to me not all lives matter.
