Update: The DeKalb County Solicitor General's office has notified us that the code violation trial for the property owner at 1840 Mason Mill Road has been set for Thursday, January 26, at 9 a.m. The trial will be in the main courthouse in downtown Decatur (556 N. McDonough Street) in courtroom C on the first floor.
Over these past months, the property has been monitored by the County and has cited close to 30 code violations tickets to the property owner. I personally will be glad to drive past this house without "getting the finger" or viewing obscenities.

James Avery It is my understanding that the county plans only procecuting me for eleven of those citations. Also needing correcting, thirty citations does not translate into thirty code violations; nor does eleven.

And I can't help but find "we had fantastic community representation at the last hearing" hilarious; yet so so sad.

Never once has this ever been a discussion where... all... were involved.

As the neighborhood I like envisioning myself living in extends halfway around the world in all four directions to a same point Indian Ocean, I really must call into question your sense of moral integrity, your idea of aesthetic beauty, your understanding of general public welfare.

James Avery Robin, I would also like to take this time explaining to you, that in the beginnings of this petition before I got banned from Change.org and all my counterpoints removed, I'd tried co-opting this petition by making it about DeKalb County enforcing all code ordinances (including it's green laws) county wide and not just enhancing and accelerating enforcement of sign code ordinances only against my property 1840 Mason Mill Road. That Bobby Rasulnia, the author of this petition, and his partner Charles Bliss had violated DeKalb County's Green laws by cutting down just about every tree on this newly purchased lot of their adjacent to mine roughly ten years ago. In spite of the outcry at the time, in addition to my two called in complaints, the county did nothing; even when me calling in my second complaint that they were going over and beyond the fourteen trees county had given these two permission to remove. And the only justifications hearing from these two new owner of this lot next to mine as their rights cutting down these trees, "I'M INCREASING YOUR PROPERTY'S VALUEf!" and "It's Charlies' money and he can spend it however he wants." Now I'm going to talk about a sign that I saw in Atlanta Botanical Garden, the section where you are walking through the treetops above the ground. According to this sign, one acre of healthy trees will sustain eighteen people. Although I'm not claiming my almost an acre lot to be healthy trees, certainly is better than that ultra high maintenance lot next to mine now known as the "Hollywood House." Hollywood House! My God! What's it made of? California's Redwood forest!? Yet, although it is my trees theoretically keeping these two new owners of this lot next to mine alive (and that barking dog!); it is me who is considered a detriment to your properties' value. It's like I'm being force sharing the inside of a beach ball (air) with a bowling ball (carbon footprint)! So...every day I'm written up a citation(s) for my signs continuing to be displayed in my front yard, that's another day these two neighbors of mine have contributed nothing to this neighborhood except increase your property value.

You really should try going online and cruising around the neighborhoods using birdeye's view. You wouldn't be able seeing anything on my property but you might be able seeing that little bitty sign in Bobby Rasulnia's yard warning you that their yard is toxic to children and pets. But why should you care? Those aren't your children and pets anyway. LOL
