About Me

My photo
Hearing impaired (tendency to appear dumb, dense, and/or aloof), orthodox atheist (believe faith more harmful than doubt), self depreciating sense of humor (confident/not to be confused with low self esteem), ribald sense of humor (satorical/mocking when sensing Condescension), confirmed bachelor (my fate if not my choosing), freakish inclination (unpredictable non-traditionalist opinions), free spirit (nor conformist bohemian) Believe others have said it better...... "Jim! You can be SO SMART, but you can be SO DUMB!" "Jim! You make such a MARTYR of yourself." "He's a nice guy, but...." "You must be from up NORTH!" "You're such a DICK!" "You CRAZY!" "Where the HELL you from?" "Don't QUITE know how to take your personality." My favorite, "You have this... NEED... to be....HONEST!"

The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once.

I kinda like the idea that every event in the universe is ultimately connected in the very, very remote future, but that time goes backward disconnecting the relationships. The future determines the past.

If you believe the Bible everything that's going to happen has already happened.

The only reason for time is that there is One who is before it.

Both time and god are abstract thoughts.  Without the human observer, both cease to exist.

gee , I was just reading about black holes and how in trillions and trillions and trillions of years that is all that will be left in our total universe .. or how you could be travelling @ 180,000 miles per second and if you were next to the black hole you would be in area making you look in a dead stop spot , no movement , and how time would fly by you in decades and nothing would change your scope as decades fly by .... and he made up the idea but had no belief in it ....

Hurry up and live is the same as hurry up and die!

One day and a thousand years are the same to God.  Paul put it very profoundly. 'He is before all things'

Don't like to post so soon after a previous but this suddenly came to mind.  It's by the English poet John Dryden  1631–1700 ...

'Not heaven itself on the past has power, but what has been, has been.
And I have had my hour'.

John 3:16 nothing but a cognitive dissonance/dissonance reduction chant...DOPE ON A ROPE PLAYED ON A LOOP.

Personally I prefer John 3:12,,,
"If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?"

The bronze snake lifted up by Moses was just a placebo same as John 3:16

As our universe is a great recycler of it resources,  in a sense you do have everlasting life....but it isn't exactly you.
